UNESCO Causses & Cévennes Ambassadors Day

This Thursday, March 14 was held at Blandas Belvedere Day Ambassadors of the territory of Causses & Cevennes UNESCO. Morgane Costes-Marre, Director of the Entente and Alain Argilier, in charge of Tourism and Communication provided an overview of all the current issues led by the Entente. Caroline Salaün, Director of the Syndicat and Anne Freville-Bougette, Director of CPIE des Causses Méridionaux then presented the basics of the landscape of the Grand Site of France de Navacelles and the link with agriculture. They also took a look at agriculture today on the Navacelles Grand Site and gave the results of the support policies. To end a presentation was made of direct sales and short circuits existing on the Grand Site of France Navacelles.

The territory of Causses and Cevennes
has been inscribed by the international community on UNESCO's World Heritage List, in recognition of the Outstanding Universal Value of its living cultural landscape of Mediterranean agro-pastoralism.

Circus of Navacelles

Cirque de Navacelles labeled "Grand Site of France"

On January 5, 2017, Ségolène Royal, Minister of the Environment, Energy and the Sea, awarded the Grand Site of France label to the territory of Cirque de Navacelles.
It thus becomes the 15th Grand Site of France. It joins the four other Great Sites of France labeled in Occitania: the Camargue Gardoise, the Canigó Massif, the Pont du Gard and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert - Gorges de l'Hérault.
